It's normal, just Germans trying to show off their usual sense of humour.

Ah yes, the radial Beetle. My favorite engine swap.

There is a video of the engine running somewhere. No clue where though.

I think it must have ideal weight distribution, probably handles better than an F1 car.

Needs an MG42 mounted in front of the driver

9/10 will not tailgate.

It'd be far better if it were hooked up to the rear tires though, rather then a prop

But then there isn't the slice-y danger part!

Yeah, but it'd be so much faster..orrr, it'd just continuously blow up tires, lol

7 cylinders. Likely a Continental 670 or Jacobs 755. Those #s are the ci of displacement.

It would be badass to have a radial like that go through some kind of differential/transaxle to drive the wheels, but figuring out the logistics of such an arrangement are interesting to save the least.
I've wanted to build a hot-rod/vintage Indy-racer style car with an inverted in-line six cylinder Ranger 440 engine.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranger_L-…
The trick with the ranger is you invert the inverted engine, otherwise the crankshaft is way too high to mount to a proper transmission and driveshaft for a vehicle. There are oiling kits for this application, but it's supposedly a real mess.

I so want to take that to the dunes and confuse the crap out of people.

Imagine the rooster tail that thing would make...
